Smart Sindara and the Kindness Countdown
It was a bright Monday morning when Smart Sindara’s teacher, Miss Bisi, wrote something special on the board: “World Teachers’ Day — October 5”

Sindara raised her hand.
“Miss Bisi, what is World Teachers’ Day?”
Miss Bisi smiled. “It’s a day to appreciate teachers for all they do to help children learn and grow.”
Sindara thought hard. She loved how Miss Bisi always encouraged her drawings, helped her with tricky math, and smiled even when tired.
That day, Sindara decided something big:
“I’ll start showing kindness to my teacher every single day from now till World Teachers’ Day — and even after!”

The Kindness Countdown Begins
On Tuesday, Sindara stayed behind after class to tidy the chalkboard and arrange the books neatly.
On Wednesday, she made a tiny paper flower and left it on Miss Bisi’s desk with a note:
“Thank you for teaching us with love.”
On Thursday, she helped a classmate, Chika, understand a science question so Miss Bisi could rest her voice.
And on Friday, she led the whole class in a cheerful “Thank you, Miss Bisi!” song before recess.

Inspiring the Whole Class
By the second week, her classmates noticed.
“Why are you doing all this, Sindara?” asked Brave Buchi.
“Because kindness is like sunshine — the more we share it, the more it grows,” Sindara replied.
“Let’s make every day a kindness day until World Teachers’ Day.”
Soon, everyone joined her.
Some students wrote thank-you cards.
Some carried Miss Bisi’s heavy books.
Others simply gave her big warm smiles and tried their best in class.
A Special Surprise
On October 5, the classroom was filled with paper flowers, cards, and laughter.
Sindara led the class in a big group hug for Miss Bisi.

Miss Bisi’s eyes sparkled with happy tears.
“You’ve all made me feel so loved,” she said. “This is the best World Teachers’ Day ever.”
Sindara grinned.
“And we’re not stopping today. Kindness is forever.”
Moral of the Story
1. Empathy means understanding how others feel.
2. Kindness means choosing to make their hearts lighter.
3. Smart Sindara showed that one small act of kindness can spark many more, and make the world — and the classroom — a warmer place.
