Smart Sindara’s Father’s Day Wish Comes True – A Trip to Erin Ijesha Waterfall.

Smart Sindara always had big dreams, but this one was extra special.

Father’s Day was coming up, and all she wanted was one thing: a trip with her dad. Not a regular one. Not to the market, not even to the bookshop. She wanted to see Erin Ijesha Waterfall, the legendary Olumirin Waterfalls in Osun State—where the water flowed like silver from heaven and the rocks whispered stories to those who would listen.

She wrote her wish in a purple card with glittery stars and handed it to Daddy with a hopeful grin.

Inside, she had written:
"Dear Daddy,
You are my hero, my compass, and my best storyteller. This year, all I want is a day with you, in nature, somewhere magical. I heard Erin Ijesha is like a fairy tale. Can we go, just us?
Love, your Sindara with the purple polka dots."

To her surprise, Daddy smiled widely and said, “Pack your boots, Sindara. We're climbing a waterfall!”

The road to Erin Ijesha was long but filled with music and laughter. Daddy sang his old-school Fuji songs loudly while Sindara added her own dance beats on the car dashboard. “This car has never been so noisy and happy!” Daddy joked.

When they finally arrived, the waterfall roared in welcome, cascading over seven layers like a curtain of liquid diamonds. Birds chirped overhead, and butterflies danced around them like confetti. Sindara gasped. “It’s more beautiful than I imagined!”

But the real adventure was just beginning.

 As they climbed the rocky path to the first level, Daddy held her hand firmly. “Step steady, my girl. The rocks are slippery but you’re strong.”

At the second level, a surprise rain shower soaked them. Sindara shrieked with joy, her twists dripping with water. Daddy spun her in the rain like she was five years old again. “Who needs a water park when we have Olumirin?” he laughed.

At the fourth level, they met an elderly guide who shared the legend of Akinla, Oduduwa’s granddaughter who first discovered the falls. “She was brave, like you,” the guide told Sindara, placing a smooth stone in her palm. “Carry this as a reminder—Black girls have always been bold.”

At the sixth level, Sindara’s legs wobbled. “I can’t do it, Daddy.” But he knelt beside her and said gently, “You’ve come this far. You are my lioness. Let’s finish together.”

And they did.

When they reached the seventh level, the view took her breath away. The waterfall roared behind them, mist kissed their cheeks, and below, the forests stretched for miles. They sat on a rock, legs dangling, arms around each other.

“Thank you, Daddy,” Sindara whispered, her voice soft and full. “This is the best day of my life.”

He looked at her with teary eyes and said, “Thank you, Sindara. Being your dad is the greatest adventure of mine.”

Back home, Sindara framed the waterfall photo they took together. She added a handwritten caption:
“Father’s Day 2025 – My wish came true. Because my daddy believes in dreams.”

And on that day, the world felt just right—for a girl with purple polka dots and a father who climbed waterfalls with her.
