Smart Sindara’s Holiday Plan

The holidays were almost here, and Smart Sindara wondered what she was going to do.
Mama said, “Too much screen time is not good for you.”
Papa said, “And don’t stay outside for too long either.”
Smart Sindara sighed.
“So what am I supposed to do now?” she asked.
Suddenly, she remembered a movie she had watched earlier in the year. In the movie, the children talked about setting goals and making a vision board.
Smart Sindara sat up quickly.
“My vision board!” she shouted.

Vision Board- do you have one?
She jumped out of bed and pulled out the colorful board she had made at the beginning of the year. It was covered with pictures, stickers, drawings, and big bold words.
At the very top, she had written:
“Get 80s and 90s in my school grades.”
Smart Sindara smiled proudly.
“I have been working hard on that,” she said. “But now that school is out, I have time to do even more.”
She sat at her desk and reviewed her vision board carefully.
First, she wanted to pick up a new skill.
At first, she thought about learning a new language. But then she shook her head.
“That might take more than eight weeks,” she said. “And I don’t want to spend my whole holiday going from class to class.”
Then she smiled.
“Knitting! Or basic sewing!”

Not too young to learn
Mama had bought her a small sewing machine as a Christmas gift, and Smart Sindara had not used it properly yet.
“This holiday, I will learn how to sew something simple,” she decided. “Maybe a headband, a small bag, or a skirt for my doll.”
Next, she looked at another goal.
Stay fit.
“Health is something to protect,” Smart Sindara muttered. “Even though I am young, I still need to take care of my body.”
So she decided she would do skipping every morning.
“Jump rope, here I come!” she said, pretending to skip across the room.
Then she looked at her next goal.

Exercise is good for the body
Cooking.
Smart Sindara could already do a few things in the kitchen. She could boil an egg, boil water in the kettle for tea, and help Mama wash vegetables.
But this holiday, she wanted to learn something new.
“Pancakes!” she said happily. “Fluffy, golden pancakes!”
“One day, I will make breakfast for everyone,” she said.
Then she looked at another goal.

Cooking can be Family Time
Maths.
“Maths has always been a tricky one,” she admitted.
But she knew she could not run away from it.
“So I will do one hour of maths every week day,” she said. “That way, my brain will stay ready for the next school year.”
Then she saw one of her favorite goals.
Reading.
“Love, love books!” she sighed.
She decided she would read one book every week from the library.
“And I will even start a monthly book club with my friends,” she said. “We can read, talk, laugh, and share our favorite parts.”
Then she looked at another goal.

Not too young to lead
TV time.
Smart Sindara nodded slowly.
“TV is not bad,” she said. “But I should watch more things that teach me something too, not just shows for fun.”
She decided she would watch documentaries, educational shows, children’s science programs, cooking videos with Mama, and stories that helped her learn on Smart Sindara and Friends Youtube channel.
Finally, she remembered all the exciting things happening during the holiday.
There were exhibitions, fairs, children’s events, and community activities. Some needed volunteers. Some needed performers. Some needed children to participate.
“And of course,” Smart Sindara added, “there must be family time!”
She wrote down:
Board games.
Family debates.
Story nights.
Cooking together.
Outdoor walks.
Helping at home.

Now, we have a plan!
Smart Sindara looked at her list and smiled.
“These are the seven things I am going to do more of this holiday!”
She grabbed her vision board and ran into the kitchen.
“Mama! Papa!” she shouted. “I have a summer plan!”
Smart Sindara stood tall and presented her plan like a news reporter.
“This holiday, I will learn sewing, stay fit, cook pancakes, practise maths, read books, watch smart TV, and enjoy family and community activities!”
Timi’s eyes widened.
Tami clapped his hands.
“Smart Sindara,” they exclaimed, “with this plan, you will not be bored!”

Mama smiled proudly.
Papa nodded.
“That is a very smart holiday plan,” Papa said.
Mama added, “And remember, a good plan still needs rest, fun, and balance.”
Smart Sindara nodded.
“Then she held up her vision board and smiled.
“This is not just a holiday,” she said. “This is my time to grow!”
Everyone cheered.
